Saul Bass (1920-1996) was an American graphic designer, animator and director who is best known for his work on opening title sequences and posters for films. He is considered by many to be the first person to make the opening sequences to films part of the cinema experience, many of which he created using cut-out animation. His breakout creation is considered to be "The Man With The Golden Arm" in 1955 and he went one to create titles for films such as "Psycho" and "Vertigo".
